One of the things that I like to mention to my Senior clients during our initial consultation is makeup. I think it is important to make sure that your makeup is done in a way that looks natural and not too faddish. I know you can rock that bright blue eye shadow, but 15 years from now when you look back at those senior photos, you’re going to be wondering what in the heck you were thinking!
Now anybody that knows me, knows that I’m not much of a girly girl. I don’t wear makeup on a day to day basis, mainly because I just don’t want to take the time to mess with it, but also because I have allergies that make my eyes itch and I end up rubbing it all off anyway. However, when I know I’m going to have a photo taken of myself (or on the rare occasion I get a date night with my hubby) I do put a little eye makeup on to help bring out my naturally squinty eyes.
Today, as I was browsing around the internet I came across a website, written by Cara, with some great makeup tips that I thought might be helpful to share here. The first post is a list of most popular beauty blunders. These are some really great tips, especially the eyeliner one. It really does make a dramatic difference.
Next, Cara has a fantastic post on photo makeup and a few changes that really make a big difference in photographs. If you aren’t planning to use a professional makeup artist before your photo session, I would definitely take a look at these tips.
Want to see more? Cara also has a great list of her most popular posts. I really love some of her simple tips. Maybe she’ll even convince me to wear makeup a little more often!
