Hi, I’m Dee Perrin. I love lazy Saturday mornings, the sound of a giggling baby, a beautiful glowing sunset, snuggling and laughing with my kids, Mexican food and a good margarita, road trips, curling up with a good book on a rainy day, knitting while watching a good movie or Netflix, sunshine, my family, and my camera.
I hate the smell (and taste) of coffee, putting away laundry, having a messy house (though I also hate cleaning it), people who are dishonest, my crooked nose, and rush hour traffic.
I have a love/hate relationship with my curly hair and have a habit of chopping it into a short pixie cut on a whim. Then I spend years growing it out only to do it again.
My brain is a weird mix of logical and creative. Sometimes one wins over the other. Other times they mix together quite nicely. Photography brings those two sides together for me. I love the combination of technical details mixed with unlimited creativity.
My fascination with photography began with a Kodak camera and some 110 film in the 80’s. I took some amazing photos of my Cabbage Patch kids back in the day. Over the years my cameras (and my subjects) were upgraded, but I never really pushed myself to learn the technical aspects of photography until I decided I wanted to take better photos of my own kids. I purchased my first DSLR camera shortly after my daughter was born and that is where my journey really began. I spent every free moment I had studying and learning everything I could about photography. It was through that process that I truly found my passion.
My favorite thing to photograph is still my three kids, but I am blessed to be able to share my passion with so many others. Each session I shoot becomes a part of my story. I love getting to know my clients during their sessions and telling their stories through photographs.
